Today was a wonderful day of experiences with my son. Edwin said his first ‘th’ word, “other.” He said it over and over again because he was so excited! He also learnt how to annoy me by pressing the same button on his puppy toy so that it would sing: “who do I hear buzzing from? It’s a bee! *roar* did you hear that!? It’s a lion, can you roar like that?” He laughed and hit the same two buttons over and over again knowing how obnoxious it was. I was too proud to be completely annoyed, haha.
There’s also a character in one of his nursery rhymes books who looks like David. Unfortunately, but also quite hilariously, it’s about a crooked man who lives in a crooked house. I teasingly say, “Look! It’s Daddy!” And now he points to David every time we read it. LOL. Today, however, he noticed the character wears a hat, so he went up to David and put his hands through his hair as if to say, “Where’s your hat?”
We went to the grocery store as a family for the first time in over two months today. We only went to Cornucopia, and Edwin did a really good job wearing a mask that was too big for him. I’ve ordered a toddler-sized one from Etsy today that should be arriving in a week or two. I also bought his first pair of training pants from there! I’m excited for him to officially start potty training. He has yet to go to the toilet on his own to poop, but I think a few weeks of nudity should fix that up. He’s been leaving his diapers mostly empty and peeing in the potty a lot lately, so I know he’s at least somewhat ready to potty train.
Edwin even helped me fill up his pool with the new pump I bought today. He stepped on it and pumped it up and down and actually helped! He also picked up all his blocks when asked, even though it was a huge mess. He is seriously the best child.
